Four Indian national hockey players were killed, and three more were injured in a traffic accident in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. According to Indian media reports, the accident happened on Monday morning in Hoshababad district, 70 km south of Bhopal, when a player The semi-finals of the tournament were being played when their car collided with a tree while controlling the jeep coming from the opposite direction, the collision was so severe that 4 players died on the spot.

The bodies and the injured were moved to a private hospital in Hoshiarbad. The deceased was a trainee of Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy and represented the academy in the National Tournament, said Hoshangabad Superintendent of Police ML Chhari. Seems to be the result of driving along, the car was at high speed at the time of the accident.

Madhya Pradesh sports director SL Thaisin says all the players were staying in Hoshabad during the tournament, on Sunday the parents of a player, Adarsh, requested the coach to allow him to come down for a birthday party. The distance between the two districts in the only 18km, so the coach permitted it not to travel at night on return. However, the accident happened during the day. The semi-final of the tournament has been postponed after the accident.
